At the end of the 1960s, in the midst of a boom in industrial manufacturing, Emilio Camponovo founded both Aurofin SA and Valcambi SA.
Over the years Aurofin specialised in the physical trade of precious metals (gold, silver, platinum, palladium and rhodium), mainly destined for the Italian goldsmith industry.

In response to market demand, in 1980 the company expanded its core business, giving its customers the opportunity to borrow metal. This was the start of the ‘loan for use’ programme (gold, silver, platinum and palladium) for companies operating in the industry.

Today, Aurofin SA works with the largest refineries in Switzerland, all major players internationally (Valcambi, Argor-Heraeus and Pamp), and can offer all their products (LBMA Good Delivery).

We buy and assess gold and silver from industrial waste and recycled jewellery. We are thus able to offer a melting, analysis and refining service.

Moreover, since 2015 the Company has also purchased and sold coins, both for investment and numismatics.
